A Message from the Composer
Lost in the Jungle is a percussion ensemble work written for featured Marimba and percussion quartet, exploring themes of uncertainty, resilience, and personal growth. The piece, through the variety of sections and moods, embodies life’s hills and valleys captured by the imagery of a Jungle. The work suggests that even in moments of disorientation, there is a deeper sense of purpose and beauty to be found, especially when we embrace the unknown. The piece highlights the importance of perseverance and the transformative power of engaging with one’s surroundings and experiences. Lost in the Jungle is both a musical exploration and a reflection on the resilience of the human spirit, inviting the listener to find meaning and beauty in the journey, no matter how uncertain it may seem. When you are lost, you can find beauty and hope in the things that surround you. If you ask me, you should embrace being Lost in the Jungle.
